Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how StripScanner (the “App”) handles information when you use it. The App helps you capture images of test strips and estimates concentration by analyzing the color density of one or more purple bars.
We built the App to minimize data collection and to process information locally on your device whenever possible.
Information We Collect
The App does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.
The App requests access to your device’s camera so you can take a picture of a test strip for analysis. This is required to provide core functionality.
- Camera Images: Used solely for test strip analysis.
- Optional On-Device Outputs: Analysis results may be displayed within the App (e.g., detected bars and estimated concentration).
How We Use Information
Images captured through the camera are used only to analyze the test strip and compute an estimated concentration result. Processing is performed on your device.
- We do not upload camera images to external servers.
- We do not use images for advertising, profiling, or tracking.
- We do not sell or rent any user data.
Data Storage
The App does not maintain a developer-controlled server database of your images or personal data. Any images used for analysis remain on your device.
Note: If you choose to save photos using iOS features (e.g., saving to Photos), that storage is managed by your device and iCloud settings.
Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services by default. If this changes in a future release, we will update this policy and disclose what is used and why.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address the issue.
Security
Because the App performs analysis on-device and does not transmit images to developer servers, it reduces risks associated with network transfer and centralized storage. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page and reflected by the “Last Updated” date above.
